This pecan praline ice cream is so rich, creamy, chocolatey and very delicious! It is ideal for the spring-summer dessert season and is so easy to prepare. Surprise your family and friends with this wonderful ice cream with a nice pecan and praline flavor. Here is the recipe:
Makes around 1 liter (1 quart) ice cream
Ingredients:
For the praline:
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses (I used Grandma Molasses)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
For the ice cream:
- 300 ml (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons molasses
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C/Gas Mark 4.
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, molasses, vanilla, and salt. Apply the pecans and stir well until coated.
- Next, spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 12 minutes until bubbling and dark in color.
- Remove and allow to cool completely. Then, chop the hardened pecan praline into little pieces.
- Use a parchment paper to line a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, combine together the condensed milk and molasses.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Whisk in the condensed milk mix and continue to beat until you get a nice, thick mixture.
- Add the chopped pecan praline into the cream mix; spread it in the prepared pan, then cover and put in the freezer for at least 5 hours before serving.
Enjoy!
